ANIMAL DIARIES

Everyone of our animals is unique and each has its own story. Since these animals are not able to survive in the wild, their pasts have not always been happy. But their stories will touch your heart. They are stories of courage, determination, fortitude, spirit and the indomimiatble will to survive. Below are just a few excerpts from our diairies. As a supporter of the Institute you will receive our newsletter which contains many other stories and updates about our family of animals.

Renard - four months of joy... and an ambassador for his species, he touched many young lives and achieved great things. Little did we know that this bundle of joy was only "on loan" to us.

During his all-too-short life, Renard was an energetic bundle of joy and a great representative of his species.

Humble Bumble - a learning-disabled bear with a unique personality. He would never have made it in the wild where his handicap would have made his life truly "unbearable."

Everybody who sees him falls in love with him. Quite a feat for a grizzly bear.  A unique spokes-bear for his kind.

Miss Clover - When she walks, she reminds one of a flounder. Flat. Barely skimming the ground. The fringes of her coat fluttering like the edges of the flounder as it scoots along the ocean floor.

She doesn't exactly cut a graceful figure as she waddles along on stubby legs under an impossibly wide body. Nevertheless there is a jauntiness and seriousness of purpose that gives her a certain dignity.
